The green stripe symbolizes Islam and the white represents purity and peace. The
red stripe symbolizes blood and valor. The writing is Allah-o Akbar (God is
Great) which is written 22 times in stylized Kufi script - this represents
February 11, 1979, which was the day of the Iranian Revolution. The coat of arms
symbolizes strength and fortitude and the growth of the Muslim faith. The
stylized emblem as a whole reads Allah or God.
