The flag of Iowa consists of three horizontal stripes. The left stripe is blue and the right is red and they are of equal size. The middle stripe is white and it has a bald eagle carrying a ribbon in the center. Written on the ribbon is Iowa's state motto: Our Liberties We Prize and Our Rights We Will Maintain.
