Internal Halyard Winch Flag Poles

Winch-operated internal halyard poles use a geared stainless steel winch behind a locking access door to raise and lower the flag, making large flags on tall poles manageable by one person.

Winch Pole Heights

Commercial internal halyard winch poles are stocked at 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 ft, then at 50 ft in 8 in. and 10 in. butt diameters, 60 ft in 10 in. and 12 in. butt diameters, and 70 ft and 80 ft for the largest installations. Where two butt sizes are offered at the same height, the larger diameter carries the higher wind load.

Why Choose a Winch System

Above roughly 40 ft, and on any pole flying a large flag, hand-hauling a halyard becomes difficult and hard on the rope. A winch gives mechanical advantage, holds the flag position under load, and locks behind the access door so the flag cannot be lowered by anyone without a key.

Stainless steel winches, winch handles, compression locks, counterweights, cable and retaining rings are all available separately if you are servicing an existing pole rather than buying new.
