Missouri Flags are made from 100% nylon and feature strong duck heading and Brass Grommets. For Outdoor Use. Made in the USA.
The flag of Missouri consists of three equal sized horizontal stripes. The top stripe is red, the middle strip is white and the bottom stripe is blue. The state coat of arms is in the center of the flag.
Red, white and blue are the country’s national colors and they represent valour, purity, vigilance and justice. The two grizzly bears in the arms represent strength. The right side of the arms features the United States coat of arms and symbolizes the ultimate authority and jurisdiction of the US over Missouri. There is also a crescent or new moon which represents Missouri as a new state. Around the outside of the shield is the motto: United We Stand, Divided We Fall, which refers to Missouri’s membership in the Union. Two bears are standing on a gold ribbon that has the state’s motto written on it: Salus Populi Suprema Lex Esto, which means ‘Let The Welfare Of The People Be The Supreme Law’. Beneath the motto are the Roman numerals for 1820, which is the year Missouri began acting as a state. At the top of the arms, in a blue band, are 24 stars signifying Missouri as the 24th state to join the Union. The cloud surrounding the stars indicates the difficulties Missouri faced to become part of the Union and the helmet facing forward stands for sovereignty.
