West Virginia Flags are made from 100% nylon and feature strong duck heading and 2 Brass Grommets. For Outdoor Use. Made in the USA.
The flag of West Virginia consists of a white base that is framed in blue. The state seal is in the center of the flag.
The white base stands for the purity of the state and the blue represents the United States. The shield shows two men. One is a farmer who represents agriculture and the other is a miner who represents industry. The rock they are standing next to represents strength and stability. The date of West Virginia’s admission to the Union, June 20, 1863, is on the rock. There are two rifles and a Phrygian, or Liberty Cap, in front of the rock and they signify that West Virginia fought for its freedom and is prepared to protect it. The state’s motto: Montani Semper Liberi, which means ‘Mountaineers Are Always Free’, is written on a red ribbon. Rhododendron sprays, the state flower, adorn the lower half of the shield.
