The flag of Nevada consists of a blue base with an emblem in the upper left corner.
The emblem features two crossed sprays of sagebrush which is the Nevada state flower. Across the top of the sagebrush is a ribbon with the state slogan ‘Battle Born’ on it. The slogan refers to the fact Nevada was admitted to the union of the United States during the American Civil War. The five-pointed silver star represents the state and its mineral wealth.
