Stationary Cap vs. Revolving TrucksStationary cap style trucks are the standard fit and are stocked for 2 in., 2-1/2 in., 3 in., 3-1/2 in., 4 in., 4.5 in., 5 in. and 5.5 in. pole tops. Revolving trucks spin on the pole so the flag can weathervane freely, which reduces the flag wrapping around the shaft in shifting wind — the usual cause of premature flag wear. Single and Double Pulley OptionsSingle pulley revolving trucks carry one halyard. Double pulley revolving trucks carry two, which is what you need to fly two flags on separate halyards. Extra heavy duty single pulley revolving trucks are available in 4.5 in. and 7.5 in. sizes for larger commercial poles. Measuring for a Replacement TruckTrucks are sized to the outside diameter of the pole top, not the butt. On a tapered pole those two numbers differ, so measure at the very top before ordering a replacement.
