Cam Cleat Grades and HeightsCam cleat poles are offered at 20 ft, 25 ft, 30 ft and 35 ft. The 20 ft and 25 ft come in light commercial, medium duty and commercial grades; the 30 ft is available in medium commercial with a 6 in. butt option and in full commercial; and the 35 ft is offered in light commercial, medium and commercial. Choose the grade by wind exposure and flag size rather than by height alone. Cam Cleat vs. V-Cleat vs. WinchA cam cleat is the quickest to operate — pull the halyard and the jaw grips it. A V-cleat requires the rope to be wrapped and figure-eighted, which is slower but has no moving parts. A winch system uses a geared drum and is the choice for tall poles and large flags where hand-hauling is impractical.
